2023 Hansamo Korean Cultural Event
in Livermore
On November 5th, Hansamo participated in a Korean cultural event at the Livermore civic
center library.
Dance team performed Samgomu. Their dance movement, rhythm, and sound make unity
and harmony. The Following performance was Sa-shin-ki-chang (Four Gods Spear Martial
Arts). Their determined movements that combined martial arts and dance were cool. Next
was Nanta. The Nanta team presented a powerful performance. Their drumming dramatized
the rhythms and promoted our Korean-American heritage and spirit. Two MCs even boosted
up the happy atmosphere by fun quizzes and gifts to the audience. With cheers, Hansamo
students played the Sogeum flute. Their beautiful sound was tranquil and peaceful. The last
performance was the Pungmulnori team. They performed Pangut, Buna spinning, and
Twelve foot long sangmo spinning. Both Hansamo students and the audience focused on and
enjoyed it together. A series of performances fascinated the hearts of the audience.
Hansamo exhibited Hanbok, Gat, Jokduri, and etc. They also made a bookmark by writing
visitor’s names in Hangul and shared Yakgwa(Korean pastry) as a souvenir.
