The 9th Hansamo Showcase & Award night

The 9th Hansamo Showcase and Award Night, held at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center on April 8, was enriched with more colorful performances. The event also featured an exhibition and awards ceremony for winning the 2nd Hansamo Hangul Essay & Art contest, sponsored by SK Hynix, which was held last year, which ended in a grand finale with cheers and applause from hundreds of audiences. In addition to the more colorful performances this year, we were able to see the appearance of Hansamo contributing to the diversity of the community through the invitation performances of external performance teams.

Following the grand opening of the big drum, Nanta, and flag dance, titled "Wake Up with the Wind," the Hansamo performance team drew applause from the audience by performing colorful Samgomu with the movement of Cheongsa chorong, which shines beautifully in the dark. The following performances of Seoljanggu, Janggo dance, Lion mask dance, and Four Gods Spear Martial Arts were also perfect performances. At the showcase, not only the performance team but also various external performance teams entertained the audience, with Mach Martial Arts' taekwondo and defeat demonstration, Dougherty Valley High School students' K-pop dance, Filipino club's traditional dance Tinnikling stage, and Arirang's melody. Finally, on the Pan-gut stage, the Pungmul team's exciting dance, Buna spinning and twelve-legged sangmo spinning were performed, marking the end of the exciting festival that became one with the audience.

The level of traditional dance and performance of Hansamo students was praised by many audiences as the result of the students' constant efforts to practice despite their busy schedules every week. Through the annual showcase on the stage, it was an opportunity to once again imprint that Hansamo is the best performance team contributing to the spread of Korean traditional culture and Korean in the Bay Area.

 지난 4월8일 Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center에서 열린 제 9회 한사모  쇼케이스 및 어워드 나잇은 더욱 더 다채로운 공연으로 풍성하게 치뤄졌다. 이번 행사에는 SK Hynix 후원으로 작년에 이어 실시된 제2회 한사모 글짓기 및 그림그리기 대회 수상작 전시 및 시상식도 함께 진행되었는데 수백여 명의 관객들의 환호와 박수갈채 속에서 성대하게 마무리 되었다. 올 해 더욱 더 다채로워진 한사모 공연과 더불어 외부 공연팀의 초청공연을 통해 지역사회의 다양성에 기여하고 있는 한사모의 모습을 엿볼 수 있었다.

한사모 공연팀은 ‘바람과 함께 깨어나다’라는 부제의 대북과 난타, 깃발춤의 웅장한 오프닝에 이어 어둠 속에서 아름답게 빛나는 청사초롱의 움직임과 함께 화려한 삼고무를 선보여 관객들의 박수갈채를 이끌어 냈다. 뒤이은 설장구와 장고춤, 사자탈춤, 사신기창의 다양한 퍼포먼스 역시 완벽한 무대였다. 이 날 쇼케이스에는 한사모 공연팀 뿐만 아니라 다양한 외부 공연팀의 무대 또한 관객들에게 즐거움을 선사했는데, Mach Martial Arts 의 태권무와 격파 시범, Dougherty Valley High School 학생들의K-pop 댄스, 필리핀 클럽의 전통춤 티니클링 무대, 한국어반 학생들이 한목소리로 불러준 아리랑의 멜로디는 마음속에 잔잔한 여운을 남기기도 했다. 마지막으로 판굿 무대에서는 풍물팀의 신나는 춤과 함께 버나돌리기,  열두발 상모 돌리기를 선보여 관객들과 하나되는 신명나는 축제의 마무리를 장식했다.

매주 바쁜 일정 속에서도 연습에 최선을 다해준 학생들의 부단한 노력의 결실로 한사모 학생들의 전통무용과 공연 수준은 많은 관객들로부터 최고라는 찬사를 받았다. 매년 무대에 선보이는 쇼케이스를 통해 한사모는  베이지역의 한국 전통 문화와 한국어 보급에 이바지하는 최고의 공연팀임을 다시 한 번 각인시키는 계기가 되었다.
