2024 KCI BAY AREA CHUSEOK FESTIVAL

On September 14th, the 6th Annual Bay Area Chuseok Festival, the largest public event celebrating Korean culture in the Bay Area, was held at the Presidio in San Francisco. Organized by Korean Center, Inc., with the help of volunteers and non-profit organizations, the festival brought the community together to enjoy cultural performances, traditional games, food, music, and arts in celebration of Chuseok, the Korean harvest festival.

Hansamo opened the festival with a dynamic Pangut performance, a traditional Korean folk music and dance. The Pungmulnori team captivated the audience with rhythmic sounds of traditional instruments, followed by thrilling beona (dish spinning) and the mesmerizing 12 foot long sangmo (long ribbon hat) performance. Hansamo’s dynamic 12-minute show ended to loud applause, marking a memorable start to the festival.

Hansamo, a long-time participant in the festival, once again played a crucial role in promoting Korean culture, strengthening community spirit, and celebrating the rich traditions and joy of Chuseok.
