2025 Hansamo Awards Scholarships to PVA Students for Creative Folktale Project
Hansamo, an organization dedicated to promoting Korean culture and education, continues to provide valuable support to Korean language classes across the Bay Area. This semester, Hansamo awarded scholarships to outstanding students at Pleasanton Virtual Academy (PVA), building on last semester’s successful gimbap-making event.
As part of their semester project, Korean 4 students at PVA worked on a creative task to modernize traditional Korean folktales and transform them into e-books. The project encouraged students to reimagine classic stories in modern settings, resulting in a variety of impressive submissions. Among them, four students were recognized for their creativity and hard work. Hansamo awarded $200 to the first-place winner, $100 each to two second-place winners, and $50 to the third-place recipient.
These scholarship opportunities were announced at the start of the project, inspiring students to put extra effort into their work. The results surpassed expectations, with students producing highly creative and well-crafted e-books. The awards went to those who demonstrated exceptional creativity and dedication. The honored students were thrilled to receive their certificates and scholarships. They expressed gratitude, emphasizing how meaningful it was to have their efforts recognized by an organization beyond the classroom.
Through its ongoing support and generosity, Hansamo continues to inspire students to excel while fostering a deeper appreciation for Korean culture and education in the community.
