2025 San Ramon Culture in the Community Festival
On January 26, 2025, Hansamo participated in the annual Culture in the Community Celebration in San Ramon, held this year at the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center. This event showcased cultural booths and performances from countries across the world, including Korea, China, Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Mexico, India, and more.
Hansamo’s performance in the Ridgeview Room featured two spectacular acts: a Nanta performance and a Samgomu drum dance. The Nanta performance, with its grand drum beats, vibrant costumes, and powerful rhythms, immediately drew the audience’s attention. The energetic drumming created an exciting atmosphere and kept the crowd engaged. Following that, the Samgo-mu (traditional Korean three drum dance) took the stage. The performers, dressed in beautiful yellow and white hanbok, blended elegant movements with dynamic hand gestures, impressing the audience with their precision and rhythm.
In addition to their performance, Hansamo’s cultural booth offered visitors a chance to explore Korean culture. The booth featured displays of traditional Korean items, and attendees could experience games like Ttakji-chigi (paper flipping) and Konggi (a game where small stones are tossed into the air and caught). A special corner was set up where visitors could try playing traditional Korean drums, such as the buk (Korean drum) and janggu (hourglass-shaped drum). The Ttakji-chigi game proved especially popular, with many participants enjoying the hands-on activity.
The Culture in the Community Celebration successfully brought together a diverse range of cultures, and Hansamo’s performances and booth added a vibrant Korean touch to the event, offering the San Ramon community an unforgettable experience.
